A family action film with a message for girls: Aishwarya Kalpathi
Aishwarya Kalpathi, associate creative producer at AGS Entertainment, the production house behind Blast , tells us that they were drawn to the project by debutant director Subash K Raj’s unique script.
“Subash was Pradeep’s (Ranganathan) assistant director, and it was Pradeep who sent me the pitch. I really liked the script, and I made Archana (Kalpathi) and (Kalpathi S) Aghoram sir listen to it. We felt there hadn’t been any films in this space in a while, and we signed Subash,” she shares.
Terming Blast as “a family action story”, Aishwarya shares, “The crux of the film revolves around this simple theme: ‘If you see something wrong happening in the world, you must stand up against it’.”
Aishwarya says the cast — Arjun Sarja, Preity Mukhundhan, and Abhirami — perfectly fits the world of Blast. “I don’t think anyone else could have pulled off the father’s character Aishwarya Kalpathi Aishwarya Kalpathi like Arjun sir and Abhirami ma’am is a powerhouse of talent who can mould herself into any role,” she says.
Blast, produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh and Kalpathi S Suresh for AGS Entertainment, will be released in theatres on May 28.
