After 'Wanted', Boney Kapoor bags Hindi rights for Tamil satire Jiiva’s 'Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil' - Reports
A successful theatrical run has now opened doors for the Tamil political satire 'Thalaivar Thambi Thanimaiyil' (TTT). The film is now reportedly heading to Bollywood. The Hindi remake rights of the film were bagged by producer Boney Kapoor, who has previously produced Ajith's 'Valimai' and 'Thunivu'. The Pongal release of this film has now become a pan-Indian release. With the terrific reception it has courted from audiences and netizens across social media platforms, and the appreciation for its methodical planning and logical storytelling, this movie will now be remade in Hindi.
The deal for the Hindi remake of 'Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil' was officially finalized during the film's celebratory success party in Chennai on Friday, February 6, 2026. Boney Kapoor, who secured the rights, carries a legendary reputation for transforming South Indian hits into Bollywood gold.
His track record spans decades, from early successes like 'Woh Saat Din', 'Judaai', and 'Sirf Tum' to modern hits like 'Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai' and 'Khushi'. Perhaps his most transformative move was producing 'Wanted,' the Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster 'Pokiri' which famously reset Salman Khan’s career. With this new acquisition, expectations are high that Kapoor will once again deliver a powerful adaptation.
