Delhi High Court grants landmark protection to Jr NTR

The Delhi High Court ruled in favour of Jr NTR, setting a precedent by granting personal and commercial protection over the actor’s likeness and persona. The court was assured that the infringers would not make any commercial or digital unauthorised use of his name, image, affiliations, well-known nicknames or identity.




The intermediaries have also been directed to remove infringing material within the timeframes specified under IT and digital media laws. The order further restricts individuals and trolls from misusing Jr NTR’s identity and persona through merchandise, deepfake technology and AI-based content, as well as any other improper digital or physical use.
