GV Prakash's mother reacts to his divorce from Saindhavi: 'His reasons were hard for me to digest, yet they are valid for him'
Well-known musician GV Prakash and singer Saindhavi announced their divorce in May this year through a post that conveyed mutual respect. The couple’s decision to end their 11-year-long marriage was shocking news for fans and followers. They share a daughter named Anvi.
Recently, GV Prakash's mother, singer AR Reihana, discussed their divorce in a podcast. In a chat with Galatta, Reihana expressed her admiration for Saindhavi and shared her thoughts on the couple’s separation. She described Saindhavi as a wonderful person and expressed hope for reconciliation, though she acknowledged that their separation was a matter of destiny and not influenced by her. Reihana emphasized that she was not responsible for their parting and reflected on how wishes alone cannot change the course of events.
Reihana also spoke about her close bond with Saindhavi, mentioning that she feels more comfortable with her former daughter-in-law than with her own daughter. She shared that while her son’s reasons for the divorce were difficult for her to accept, they are valid from his perspective. “When I spoke to my son about their divorce, his reasons were hard for me to digest, yet they are valid for him,” she stated.
GV Prakash and Saindhavi first met during their school days and later began dating. They tied the knot in 2013 and welcomed their first child in 2020.
On May 13, the couple publicly shared their decision to part ways through a social media post, citing their desire for mental peace and well-being as the primary reasons for the split. They also requested privacy as they navigate this personal transition.
