Here's why our Kollywood stars are at Cannes International Film Festival

This year’s Cannes International Film Festival is currently underway. Starting from May 17 to May 28, the International Film Festival will preview various trailers, movies, posters of different language films that are made in different regions in the world. This year many Indian celebrities who belong to the film industry are taking part in the Cannes film festival. To name a few – AR Rahman, Kamal Haasan, Pooja Hegde, R Madhavan, Nawazuddin Siddique, Tamannaah Bhatia, Pa Ranjith are part of the Indian delegatory that is attending the Cannes 2022. Actress Deepika Padukone is one among the juries at the Cannes International Film Festival 2022.

AR Rahman who has been well known for his music composition all over the world is now marking his name as a film director as well. AR Rahman’s movie ‘Le Musk’ will have its world premiere at the Cannes this year. He also walked the red carpet at Cannes on May 17 along with the Indian delegation. ‘Le Musk’ is Rahman’s first directorial film that is premiering at an international platform. The 36-minute VR film stars Nora Arnezeder and Guy Burnet in the lead roles.

Pa Ranjith’s upcoming film ‘Vettuvam’s first-look poster will be launched at the Cannes on May 19. ‘Vettuvam’s cast and crew will be revealed at the film festival. The work on the movie will begin after the director returns from France. ‘Vettuvam’ is speculated to be a movie that is about hunting.

Actress Urvashi Rautela is making her debut in Tamil cinema with the film ‘The Legend’. The movie features Sarvanan Arul in the lead role. Many compared Urvashi Rautela’s costume to a ball of snow and praised the actress.

Kamal Haasan walked the red carpet at Cannes with the Indian delegation. His upcoming film ‘Vikram’ is one of the most anticipated movies. The trailer and the NFTs of the film will be premiered at Cannes. This is the first film that is entering the Metaverse. In a collaboration with a private company, Kamal Haasan has created the Metaverse experience based on art, avatar, posters of ‘Vikram’ and this is a limited edition.
