Reports suggest the leak initially appeared as a short five-minute clip before escalating into a full-length version online. The leaked material reportedly included key sequences such as the title introduction and portions of the climax.

CBFC clarification

According to TOI City, the Central Board of Film Certification dismissed claims linking the leak to its system as “baseless and misleading”.
Reportedly, officials explained that all films are processed through a secure Key Delivery Message mechanism with password-protected access. “Without a valid KDM, the content cannot be accessed or viewed,” officials said while outlining the protocol. The board also stated that the film’s Digital Cinema Package was handed over on March 17 and remained with the applicant since then.

Production concerns in the Vijay starrer

The leak could affect 'Jana Nayagan's box office performance and disrupt planned release strategies. In the complaint Udayakumar requested authorities to immediately block the leaked content across all digital platforms. He also urged officials to seize devices used in the offence, such as mobile phones, laptops, and storage media.According to IANS, the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA), one of the oldest and largest bodies representing film and entertainment producers, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention and calling for immediate and strict action against those involved in the film’s piracy.
