‘Jana Nayagan’: Thalapathy Vijay fans tear down Sivakarthikeyan starrer ‘Parasakthi’ posters ahead of release

Thalapathy Vijay is gearing up for his final cinematic outing with the upcoming political action thriller, ‘Jana Nayagan’. As the film is set to release this week, the fan frenzy around the film just keeps getting higher and higher. However, a bitter reaction from a few fans ahead of the film’s release has now gone viral on social media.

What happened during the trailer release?

Recently, an incident in Madurai has been gaining traction across social media platforms as during the screening of ‘Jana Nayagan’ trailer at Ritzy Cinemas, some Vijay fans were seen tearing down posters of ‘Parasakhti’ placed outside the theatres. Video of the same are seen on the internet. In a clip shared by shared by a handle @madraspaiyanda, fans can be seen ripping and throwing the poster onto the ground.




For the unversed, ‘Jana Nayagan’ will face a box office clash with Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film ‘Parasakthi’, which is releasing just a day later on January 10, 2026. This close release date seems not to have gone down well with a section of Vijay’s fans.

Netizens shared their takes on the incident as some questioned fan’s behaviour during film clashes. Some condemned the incident while some shared that they called out the emotional attachment fans have due to the movie being Vijay’s last film before he enters a full fledged political career.

From ‘Jana Nayagan’ audio event

The film’s audio launch event, held in Malaysia, was another emotional moment. At the event, Vijay officially announced his decision to quit cinema and step fully into public life. His speech moved many fans. He spoke about how he started his career with small dreams, but was given great love by his supporters.

The trailer of the film shows Vijay in a massy and action-packed role. The movie includes Pooja Hegde, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain, Priyamani, and Mamitha Baiju in key roles. The music of the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

The film will also clash with Prabhas starrer ‘The Raja Saab’ releasing this Friday.
