Karthik Subbaraj's 'Jigarthanda DoubleX' gets selected for Rotterdam Film Festival

Director Karthik Subbaraj's 'Jigarthanda DoubleX' starring Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah in the lead roles had received amazing response from the audience and critics after it's worldwide release earlier in November 2023. Now, the latest is that the film has been selected for the 50th International Film Festival Rotterdam 2024.

The festival runs from January 25 to February 4, 2024. Announcing the same, Karthik Subbaraj wrote, "Very Happy and Excited to share that our #JigarthandaDoubleX is officially selected at and will have its Dutch Premiere at the prestigious
@IFFR - Rotterdam Film Festival under the Limelight Category."


A prequel to the blockbuster Jigarthanda (2014), the film is about a filmmaker and a gangster in 1975, who made a film together, with SJ Suryah apparently playing the filmmaker and Ragahav Lawrence, the gangster. The twists and turns and the final product of the film forms the crux of the story.

Earlier last week, egendary actor-director Clint Eastwood said that he would watch the film soon after he completes work on his film 'Juror 2'.
