'Leader' box office collection day 9: Legend Saravanan starrer collects Rs 18 lakhs; Numbers stay low in the second week

Legend Saravanan’s action thriller 'Leader' is witnessing very slow collections as it moves into its second week. On Day 9, the film managed only Rs 18 lakhs, continuing its low performance in recent days.



The spy actioner has crossed Rs 5.27 crore worldwide so far, but daily numbers have remained minimal after a modest opening.

As reported by the Sacnilk website, 'Leader' has been collecting low figures for several days now. Day 6 brought in Rs 28 lakhs, Day 7 collected Rs 29 lakhs, Day 8 managed Rs 12 lakhs, and Day 9 added Rs 18 lakhs.


The film has managed a total India net of Rs 4.60 crore so far. The India gross stands at Rs 5.27 crore and the worldwide gross is also at Rs 5.27 crore after nine days of release.

Story of 'Leader'

'Leader' follows an undercover agent living as a car mechanic in Thoothukudi. His mission is to stop a dangerous plan to blow up the port using ammonium nitrate.

Legend Saravanan plays the lead role in his second film as actor and producer. The cast also includes Shaam, Andrea Jeremiah, Santhosh Prathap, Payal Rajput, and Iyal.

ETimes review for the film reads, "Saravanan has noticeably improved since his debut. He's been given a character that plays to his strengths: Sakthivel is glum, serious, and speaks sparingly, and Saravanan maintains that register with consistency. He won't be asked to carry emotional heavy lifting, but he doesn't need to. Andrea, Shaam, and Santhosh Prathap bring strong performances that complement his presence and keep the film's dramatic engine running. The ensemble works as a unit rather than a showcase for any single performer. Leader never pretends to be something it isn't. Logic will not survive contact with this plot, and anyone searching for coherence will find their patience rewarded with more gunshots and explosions. In all honesty, no one seemed to want anything beyond that."
