The event, which is observed during the holy month of Shravan, is observed this year on August 30 and 31. 'Thirupaachi'

'Thirupaachi' features Vijay and Mallika as siblings and the 2005 release was a big hit at the box office. The story of the film is about a brother and sister from a village and the wish of a brother to see his sister get married in a safe and developed location. However, the story takes a turn with an unexpected twist leading to a second half which is loaded with action sequences.

'Vedalam

Directed by Siruthai Siva, 'Vedalam' features Ajith and Lakshmi Menon. As Lakshmi Menon's character saves Ajith's on screen character, the latter decides to take care of the former considering her as his sister and tries to give her a peaceful life. The action drama was a blockbuster hit, and the film was recently remade in Telugu.

'Sigappu Manjal Pachai'

Directed by Sasi, 'Sigappu Manjal Pachchai' features Siddharth, GV Prakash Kumar, and Lijomol Jose in the main roles. The film is about an elder sister and a younger brother who grew up without their parents. But the problem arises between them when the sister decides to marry a police officer who insulted her brother. Sasi made the film with a mix of emotions, and the film attracted the audience of all generations.

'Kadaikutty Singam'

'Kadaikutty Singam' is about a village man who wishes to have a son to head his assets. Karthi played the younger brother of five sisters, and the film explained the problems faced by a brother who wishes to manage all his sisters. Directed by Pandiraj, 'Kadaikutty Singam' had a successful theatrical run and grossed over Rs 100 crore.

Sivakarthikeyan and Aishwarya Rajesh's bonding as brother and sister worked well for the film, and it transformed the film into a massive hit.
