SIIMA 2023: Best Film to Best Actress - List of Awards 'Ponniyin Selvan' won

Ponniyin Selvan is a historic epic drama adapted from Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film was made in two parts and it has grossed more than Rs 800 crore at the box office together. The film starred Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai and Trisha in lead roles. The movie was critically acclaimed and it has now secured maximum number of awards at the 11th edition of South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA). Here is the list of the awards that Ponniyin Selvan won at SIIMA 2023.

Trisha played the role of Kundavai in the film Ponniyin Selvan and she has won the Best Actress Award at SIIMA 2023. The official announcement read, "Trisha was stunning in Ponniyin Selvan - I! Her captivating performance was loved by one and all. She is taking home the Popular Choice Best Actress (Tamil) award at SIIMA 2023 for the same!"

Directed by Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan won the award for Best Film at SIIMA 2023. The announcement read "Breathtaking storytelling and cinematic brilliance define Ponniyin Selvan - 1, earning it the prestigious Best Film (Tamil) award at SIIMA 2023. Thota Tharani won the award for Best ART Director for Ponniyin Selvan. The announcement read. "The credit for the captivating visuals in Ponniyin Selvan - 1 goes to the exceptional production design by Thota Tharani. He has won the award for the Best Production Designer (Tamil) at SIIMA 2023. Congratulations!"

Ilango Krishnan won the Best Lyricist for his song Ponni Nadhi in Ponniyin Selvan. The official post read, "The wordsmith behind the lovely lyrics of Ponni Nadhi in Ponniyin Selvan - 1, Ilango Krishnan, has won the Best Lyric Writer (Tamil) award at SIIMA 2O23."

Cinematographer Ravi Varman won the award at SIIMA 2023 for 'Ponniyin Selvan'. The announcement read, "Ponniyin Selvan - 1 portrayed visual storytelling at its finest! Ravi Varman, the mind behind it wins the Best Cinematographer (Tamil) award at SIIMA 2023."
