One of the leading comedians in Kollywood, actor Soori has been active on social media during this lockdown, induced by the pandemic. He has been sharing videos of his time spent with family and children, and his fans have been elated to see the personal side of the actor. He has also been quite in the forefront to spread awareness on the deadly coronavirus and social distancing and hand washing.

Recently, Class Eight and Nine students of the corporation schools of Madurai got an opportunity to interact with the comedian as part of Thalir Thiran, a skill-development programme organised by the corporation. The programme started on June 4 and will go on till June 16, and through this, people who have excelled in different ways are being made to interact with the students. Soori, who is an alumnus of the Elango Byos Higher Secondary School interacted with the students through video calling and he asked them to aspire to reach great heights through education. He said that though he is a Class Seven dropout, he could achieve something in life. But, he added, that on many occasions, he felt the importance of education, as he could not speak in English or handle certain things. He asked the students to learn Tamil well and also develop their skills in other languages. He also narrated some of the interesting and hilarious incidents from his life, much to the delight of the students.
Soori is acting in an important role in Superstar Rajinikanth’s Annaathe directed by Siva. He is also gearing up to play the lead role in Vettrimaaran’s upcoming film, which is expected to begin after the lockdown.
