Tamil movies that focussed on unexpected second chance of love

Tamil cinemas has a wide variety of films in various genres. The Kollywood also makes sure to top the charts with romance films, however, apart from the romanticisation, Tamil films also have tragedy and unexpected happenings, that makes one lose their love of the life. But, as life doesn't stop there, these movies went ahead to show us there is unexpected second chance at love.

Raja Rani

Raja Rani marked the debut of Atlee as a director. The movie stars Arya, Nayanthara, Jai and Nazriya in lead roles. The story is about two people who were forced to marry through an arrange marriage who later gets to know the past of each other and how involved they were with their past love story. But soon, understanding the loss, the married couple start falling in love with each other.

Vaaranam Aayiram

Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, Vaaranam Aayiram was released in theatres in 2008. The movie stars Suriya, Simran, Sameera Reddy and Remya Nambesan in lead roles. The film marks Sameera's debut in Tamil cinema. The story focuses on how Suriya expresses his love to the girl he met on train which is love at first sight and how he walks into a dark path after her death. It also shows how he later falls in love with his friend after mending his life.

Sillinu Oru Kadhal

Directed by Obeli N Krishna, Sillini Oru Kadhal was released in 2006. The movie stars Suriya, Jyothika and Bhumika in lead roles. Sillinu Oru Kadhal marks the first film that Suriya and Jyothika did together after they announced their relationship officially. The film focuses on how Suriya after his love ends in tragedy, meets Jyothika through an arrange marriage and how the couple are in love even after 8 years. The movie also portrays how Jyothika after knowing Suriya's past, asks him to go back to his college love, but he ends up proving his love for Jyothika.

Rhythm

Directed by Vasanth, Rhythm is a musical drama film that was released in 2000. Starring Arjun, Meena, Jyothika and Ramesh Aravind, the film received a lot of positive reviews. The movie focussed on the life of a wife who lost her husband and a husband who lost his wife in an accident and how they come together. The movie also stresses on adoption with a good note.
