The overwhelming success of Ajith Kumar's 'Mankatha', which was re-released on January 23 this year, has created a buzz in Tamil Nadu. The year 2011 saw Ajith Kumar release this movie as his own 50th film, which angered his fans, while no one has been left to pass information about this always trendy film. Celebration with slogans and hoarding has taken place in numerous localities, with the happening being the main talk of the town.
Vijay fan attacked for waving TVK flag
However, the re-release party turned into a stampede when a film from Karaikudi surfaced showing Ajith fans beating up a Vijay fan. From the film, the fan carried a Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) flag and distinctly uttered pro-Vijay slogans inside the premises of the theatre. Harming his efforts, Ajith fans supposedly chased and warned the fan to calm down. Not minding their predecessor, Aithus fans allegedly wound up "slapping" him, tearing away his shirt, before tossing the fan out of the function amidst cheers on the premises. The video has become sensationalist, and Polimer News has retrieved it, although it is undeterminable if any formalities have been awarded.
Social media outrage and calls for action
The violent incident has been attacked by social media users. The users were anxious about the crushed person on the site who appeared to be underage and youthful. The majority have mentioned the Tamil Nadu Police account and have called for a fast investigation. With the recent changes, we have seen an attempt to comprehend the ability of the fan and community.
'Mankatha' re-release breaks records amid chaos
Notwithstanding the fact that the release has been controversial because of its implications, Mankatha's second release has become a box office hit with reports that the film made an opening day gross of 4.1 crore. The film is now enjoying the status of being a re-released record breaker, and after this rerelease, it has surpassed the previous record set by Vijay 'Ghilli'. But, in a way, this incident in Karaikudi reminds us of the dark side of ridicule and of the fact that fights, after all, should not end up in such clashes.
