Suniel Shetty manifested cricketer KL Rahul as his son-in-law; says, ‘I was his huge fan’

The cricketer married the ‘Border’ actor’s daughter Athiya Shetty in 2023. Since then, in numerous public appearances, Suniel Shetty has praised KL Rahul both as a cricketer and also as his son-in-law. Recently, Suniel Shetty has again shared his emotions about KL Rahul, emphasizing that he was a huge fan of the sports star.Recently, actor Suniel Shetty, during his interview with ANI, was asked if he manifested KL Rahul as a son-in-law in his life, to which the actor responded with a heartfelt answer and said he probably did. He confidently replied, “Probably I did, because I was a huge fan of his when I used to watch him play,” showing a supportive father-in-law side.In between describing his love and obsession for cricket and how he couldn’t become a professional cricketer, Suniel Shetty continued that he understands talent and has always loved his son-in-law for the way he played. Suniel Shetty’s love for his roots seems evident in his words and also his admiration for KL Rahul. Suniel Shetty was born in Karnataka’s Mangalore, and so was KL Rahul. He revealed another reason why he feels the connection between the two of them is special. “He’s a Mangalore boy, so it’s special,” said Suniel Shetty.In a May 2025 interview with Lallantop, Suniel Shetty revealed that he didn’t cry during his daughter’s bidaai ceremony. He shared that he was confident that his daughter was married to someone who would truly keep her happy. “I was confident. She has married someone who would truly keep her happy,” he expressed.
