Above all, we firmly believe that Thalapathy Vijay sir deserves the farewell he has earned through decades of love from his fans.”

After hearings on January 6 and 7, Justice PT Asha directed the CBFC to grant clearance to the film on January 9. But the relief did not last long. Within hours, a division bench gave an interim stay on that order. The case is now posted to January 21.

Sudden shock before release

Just days before the planned release, things changed. “A few days before our planned release, on 5 January 2026, we were informed that the film had been referred to the revising committee based on one complaint,” Venkat said. He added that time was running out and they did not even know who made the complaint.

“Without knowing who the complainant was, we approached the Honourable High Court,” he explained. The team felt they had no other choice as the release date was getting closer.

Notably, Parasakthi is being presented by Stalin’s grandson, Inban Udhayanidhi, under Red Giant Movies—a production house founded and long headed by his son and Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister, Udhayanidhi Stalin.
