Nandamuri Balakrishna's 'Akhanda 2: Thandavam' is set to hit the theatres this week on December 5. Following the huge success of the first part released in 2021, director Boyapati Srinu has created the sequel with the same intensity. Thaman has composed the music for the film, which stars Samyuktha Menon and Aadhi Pinishetty. While the film's preview events are taking place in various cities, Balakrishna's speech at the pre-release ceremony in Chennai greatly impressed the fans.

Balakrishna speaks in Tamil
Balakrishna, who took the stage, decided to speak in Tamil this time. “I feel happy as if I have come home. I was born in Tamil Nadu; so this is my birthplace,” he began. He proudly recalled the place of Tamil Nadu in his life. His quote, “Tamil Nadu is my birth land. Telangana is my karma bhoomi; Andhra is my soul bhoomi,” was well-received by fans. He fondly recalled the love his father NTR received in the Tamil film industry and the affection shown by legends like MGR and Sivaji Ganasekaran. Balakrishna openly shared that the first part of ‘Akhanda’ was released during the Covid pandemic, and that there were doubts about whether fans would come to the theaters at that time. “But people were waiting for this film at that time. It was a moment that gave me courage,” he said, proudly mentioning that ‘Simha’, ‘Legend’, and ‘Akanda’, which were all hits along with Boyapatti Srinu, were all hits.
