Anupama Parameswaran: This 22-year-old Mallu Girl is making waves in Tollywood

Who would have thought that a teenage starlet who played a cameo in a Malayalam film would emerge as one among the leading heroines in Telugu cinema? Even Anupama wouldn’t have dreamt that the role of Mary was going to catapult her to instant fame and stardom. She has the rare blend of gorgeous looks, attractive personality and convincing acting chops to mesmerise the audience on the silver screen.

It was the ‘wizard of words’ Trivikram Srinivas who introduced her to Tollywood with the Nithiin starrer ‘A Aa’ in 2016. She was remarkable as the besotted Nagavalli and walked away with all the attention. The pint-sized dynamite also dubbed for her role in the debut film itself. Impressed by her performance, the director went on record and said “Anupama has a long future ahead in Telugu cinema. We really need more actresses like her.”

Anupama attended the famous CMS College Kottayam in Kerala to pursue a degree in Communicative English. During this time, her friend noticed a casting call on Facebook saying that they are looking for a young girl to play a crucial cameo in a Malayalam film. On her insistence, Anupama reluctantly sent her photos and got selected after giving an audition. That film turned out to be the Nivin Pauly starrer ‘Premam’ directed by Alphonse Puthren. Despite a small role, the beautiful diva’s vibrant smile and adorable expressions struck the right chord with the viewers. This super-hit film paved the way for the ravishing beauty to grab more offers in South cinema.

The first three Telugu films of the talented actress have turned out to become memorable hits at the ticket counters. While she played more of a second fiddle in Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Premam’ and ‘A Aa’, her first film as a solo female lead was ‘Sathamanam Bhavati’ opposite Sharwanand. The family drama showcased Anupama as an NRI girl who comes to her grandparents’ house for the festival. The striking diva delivered a commendable performance and her on-screen chemistry with Sharwa looked spot-on in the film. Her recent film ‘Hello Guru Prema Kosame’ with Ram also opened to favourable reviews from the critics and audience.

Apart from her movies and endorsements, Anupama Parameswaran slays it in any attire during photo-shoots and fashion shows.
