Not all Telugu movies are bad, but some of them are shitty masala movies. Filmmakers and actors now a day are focusing on a subject rather than commercial elements. Tollywood has already started giving importance to quality rather than quantity. Baahubali

Baahubali is an epic action two-part film directed by SS Rajamouli remains one of the most celebrated Telugu films of all time. Starring Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia and Ramya Krishnan, the film received high praise in India and abroad. It won various international awards and three National Film Awards for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, Best Special Effects and Best Stunt Choreographer. It became the highest-grossing Indian movie of all time.

Mahanati

This film by Nag Ashwin was released in 2018. It won the Equality in Cinema (Honorary Award) at the 2018 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. It earned praise for the lead artists’’ performance, cinematography, screenplay and Nag Ashwin’s directorial prowess. It has also won three National Film Awards for Best Feature Film Telugu, Best Actress and Best Costume Designer. As well as being critically acclaimed, the movie also did very impressively overseas box office. Keerthy Suresh deserves every bit of the praise she received for her acting abilities in this particular movie as she portrayed the late legendary actress Savitri.

Arjun Reddy

This 2017 movie directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga stars Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in lead roles. The love story about two medical students was one of the Tollywood’s all-time greatest box office hits. It was nominated for various awards in at the 65th Filmfare Awards South and won six Filmfare Awards South for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Lyricist, Best Male Playback Singer and Best Female Playback Singer. This romantic drama not only has a massive following in Tollywood but has also received very positive reviews abroad.

Ghazi

Ghazi is written and directed by Sankalp Reddy. Released in 2017, the film not only won critical acclaim but also received the Best Feature Film Award in Telugu at the 65th National Film Awards. It achieved immense success in the Telugu states and received immeasurable praise from critics the world over. The quality and intensity of dialogues in the film was super awesome. Based on the true events of the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971, this movie showed and convinced the masses without any commercial element.

Rangasthalam

This 2018 movie was directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. The Ram Charan and Samantha starrer won the National Award for Best Autography and received eleven Filmfare Awards South. Nobody but Ram Charan could have portrayed the role of a partially deaf and ill-tempered youth who decides to go up against the dreaded president of his village after his brother brutal murder. Basically, everyone loved it. So this movie definitely was something Tollywood must be proud of.
