Child actress Shriya comes of age

Shriya Sharma, who played Samantha���s little sister in Dookudu, is all set to make her debut as a lead actress. She���ll soon be seen in Kamal G���s upcoming romantic musical Gayakudu. ���The director was apparently quite impressed with my performance in a TV serial, Gumrah and he approached my father and convinced us that I would suit the role he had envisioned for me in his film.Everything happened so quickly. In the film, I play the role of a young girl, who falls in love with a popular singer. It was a great learning experience,��� Shriya Sharma recalls. In the past, she had acted as a child artist in films like Robo, Raccha, Tuneega Tuneega and Jai Chiranjeeva.
Ask her if she���s really happy with the way things are turning out for her, she says, ���I���ve acted as a child artiste in nearly 15 films so far and plenty of other TV commercials in Tamil and Hindi in the past 13 years but at one point of time, I wasn���t sure if I really wanted to be an actress. But then, in 2012, I won the national award for my role in Chillar Party and that changed my life completely. That���s when I realized that I have it in me to become an actress.���
