Malavika Mohanan on working across different film industries
Malavika Mohanan has made her name in the cinema, having worked in different language projects. She has worked in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi films with stars like
Vijay, Mohanlal, Prabhas and Rajinikanth. Recently, the actress shared her experience working with some of the best filmmakers and artists from different parts of the country, as per a Hindustan Times report.
Mohanan said, “Cinema today is truly borderless. If you’re part of a good project today, it reaches everyone. Language is no longer a barrier.” The ‘Hridayapoorvam’ actress says she feels lucky to be part of this new phase in Indian cinema. “I’m in a space where I’m getting to work with some of the best filmmakers and artists from different parts of the country,” she added.
Learning by observing on film sets
The 'Raja Saab' actress believes that filmmaking is a deeply collaborative process. Every person on set contributes something to the final film. “Filmmaking is such a collaborative art form, there are no fixed rules. One of my favourite things to do on set is observe,” she said, adding, “It’s the same approach I have when I’m out in the wild capturing photographs: you watch, learn and absorb the moment.”
For the unversed, Malavika Mohanan also enjoys photography. She often shares posts about her wildlife photography trips on her social media handle.

Additionally, she mentioned that not every film becomes a big success. But she believes that is part of an actor’s life. “Of course you want every film to do well, but some work and some don’t. That’s part of the process. As long as I’m growing as an actor and working on exciting projects, that’s what matters,” she said.
On the work front, she was last seen marking her Telugu debut with Prabhas starrer ‘The Raja Saab’. The movie, released with huge hype, turned out to be a major box office disappointment.
