Telugu superstars donate big to combat Covid-19: Prabhas, Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, NTR, Ram Charan and others

In the wake of coronavirus pandemic, Telugu superstars are digging deep into their pockets and contributing huge amounts for the relief measures carried out by both the Central and State governments to combat the deadly virus. Nithiin was amongst the first actors from the Telugu film fraternity to make a donation of Rs 10 lakh each to the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana CM Relief funds respectively. However, after Pawan Kalyan donated a massive sum of Rs 2 crore the other day, several actors like Ram Charan, Mahesh Babu, NTR, Prabhas and Allu Arjun came forward and pitched in with their donations.

Prabhas (Rs 4 crore)

Besides donating Rs 50 lakh each to both the Telugu states, Rebel Star Prabhas gave away Rs 3 crore to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. His contribution is the highest among South Indian celebs. Despite the outbreak of coronavirus, the team of Prabhas20 flew down to Georgia in the first week of March and shot some crucial scenes in extreme weather conditions. However, after filming for a few days in Tbilisi, the makers decided to halt the shoot for the safety of the cast and crew and returned to India. Upon returning from the European country, Prabhas and Pooja Hegde have decided to self-quarantine for two weeks.

Pawan Kalyan (Rs 2 crore)

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan took to Twitter on Tuesday and announced a massive donation of Rs 50 lakh each to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana CM relief fund. The actress-cum-politician also contributed Rs 1 crore to Prime Minister's Relief Fund for combating the catastrophic pandemic.

Mahesh Babu (Rs 1 crore)

On Thursday, Mahesh Babu announced that he’ll be contributing Rs 1 crore to the CM Relief Fund of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Requesting everyone to come forward and make a donation towards the cause, the Telugu superstar wrote in his post “Let's battle the COVID-19 as a nation! I urge everyone to follow the rules put forth by our Government. My deepest gratitude for all your efforts @PMOIndia @TelanganaCMO @KTRTRS @AndhraPradeshCM @ysjagan . Humanity will rise and we will win this war! #StayHomeStaySafe”

Allu Arjun (Rs 1.25 crore)

In a video message shared this morning, Stylish Star Allu Arjun announced a donation of Rs 1.25 crore to the relief funds of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala. Urging people to wash hands and remain in isolation, the 36-year-old actor hailed the efforts of doctors, nurses, police and military personals who are working tirelessly amid the deadly Covid-19.

Chiranjeevi (Rs 1 crore)

Mentioning that the lockdown situation has adversely impacted the lives of daily wage workers and lower-income groups in the country, Megastar Chiranjeevi donated a sum of Rs 1 crore to help the daily wagers in the Telugu film industry. On the occasion of Ugadi (March 25), the senior hero made his social media debut and urged people to stay safe at home in his first post.

Junior NTR (Rs 75 lakh)

Junior NTR split his ₹75 lakh donation three-way with ₹50 lakh going to the CMRF of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and ₹25 lakh for workers of the Telugu film industry. A few days ago, the 36-year-old actor along with his RRR co-star Ram Charan shared six precautions that have been recommended by WHO.

Ram Charan (Rs 70 lakh)

Inspired by Pawan Kalyan’s contribution, Ram Charan came forward and donated Rs 70 lakh to aid the laudable efforts of the Central and both the Telugu state governments. Announcing the news on Twitter, the 34-year-old wrote “Hope this tweet finds you in good health. At this hour of crisis, inspired by @PawanKalyan garu, I want to do my bit by contributing to aid the laudable efforts of our governments... Hope you all are staying safe at home!”

Nithiin (Rs 20 lakh)

In the wake of coronavirus outbreak, popular Telugu actor Nithiin has donated a sum of Rs 10 lakh each to both the CM relief funds of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to combat the catastrophic pandemic. He was one among the first Telugu actors to voluntarily come forward and make a donation.

Sai Dharam Tej (Rs 10 lakh)

Supreme Hero Sai Dharam Tej contributed a sum of Rs 10 lakh to the relief funds of both the Telugu states. Announcing his donation on his Twitter handle, he wrote “We are waging a crucial battle against an enemy like no other. We are in it together & we need reinforcements to come out victorious from this. I would like to contribute an amount of 10 Lakhs towards the fund of @TelanganaCMO & @AndhraPradeshCM . Stay home, Stay safe. @KTRTRS”

Where are the heroines ? Haven't they earned any thing or have nothing to contribute for welfare of nation ? They should know they get tax benefits too besides fame. Hope they don't lag behind heroes in this national cause.
