Sekhar Kammula is considered as one of the most prolific directors of the Telugu film industry with helming some of the most critical and commercially successful films. He is well-known in Tollywood for directing romantic comedy entertainers. In a career spanning more than 20 years, Sekhar Kammula has won numerous awards, including a National Film Award, six Nandi Awards and a Filmfare Award. Anand

Released in 2004, Raja and Kamalinee Mukherjee as the lead actors. The film introduced KM Radha Krishnan to the entertainment industry, who later became a renowned Tollywood music director. The film revolved around a woman named Roopa whose family dies in a car accident starts living independently with self-esteem and falls in love with Anand, a rich kid, whose father is responsible for her family’s death. It was a box office success and received six Nandi Awards.

Godavari

Released in 2006, Sumanth and Kamalinee Mukherjee played the lead roles in the film. People praised Sumanth’s acting abilities in the film, as well as his chemistry with Kamalinee. The plot revolves around an idealist Sreeram, who fails to marry the love of his life due to her engagement to an IPS officer, boards a cruise on the Godavari river over and soon falls in love with a young woman named Seetha. KM Radha Krishnan composed music for the film, while Vijay C Kumar handled the camera. The film won five Nandi Awards for Second Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Music Director, Best Cinematographer and Best Female Playback Singer.

Happy Days

There could be hardly any Tollywood fan who would say that they have not watched 'Happy Days.' Released in 2007, 'Happy Days' was recognized and appreciated by critics across the country. The film basically narrates the story of a group of eight youngsters from an engineering college, who form an unbreakable friendship goes through various struggles during their college life. The film received a handful of awards, including three Nandi Awards and six Filmfare Awards. Varun Sandesh, Tamannaah Bhatia, Nikhil Siddharth, Sonia Deepti, Vamsee Chaganti, Gayatri Rao and Monali Chowdhary played the lead roles in the film.

Fidaa

Released in 2017, 'Fidaa' was a love story between two people, Varun, an NRI medical student, and Bhanu, a vivacious, young woman, and how they face many personal differences that create complications in their relationship. Though the film narrated a beautiful love story, what made it unique was the fact that the film has a beautiful soundtrack composed by Shakthikanth Karthick. Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi played the lead roles in the film, which was a commercial success and received four Filmfare Awards.

Love Story

The film, where actors Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi met onscreen for the first time, was a love story between a Christian guy and a Hindu girl. The female lead plays the privileged side of the caste system, whereas the boy is from the lower caste. The film's climax was layered with a social message, urging the audience to let go of such norms of caste and creed. The film, which was released worldwide on September 24, 2021, was a commercial success, grossing more than 60 crores.
