Jani Master shares emotional reunion with family after bail in sexual assault case: 'Truth is often eclipsed, but it will prevail one day'

Well-known choreographer Jani Master, whose National Award was recently suspended by officials, posted an emotional video of his reunion with his family after being granted interim bail. Jani was arrested on September 19, following allegations of sexually assaulting a woman who was a minor at the time of the incident.

Jani took to his Twitter handle to share the video, and in the clip, he is seen hugging his wife and children, expressing relief at being back with them. Along with the video, he wrote, “A lot has been taken away from us in these 37 days. My family and well-wishers' prayers got me here today. Truth is often eclipsed but never extinguished—it will prevail one day. This phase of life, which my entire family has gone through, will pierce my heart forever.” He added the emotional song "Papa Meri Jaan" to the video, though many social media users responded negatively in his comment section.


Jani Master was granted bail by the Telangana High Court on October 24. The bail sparked debate on social media, with many questioning how an accused person could still attend the National Awards. Following the backlash, the National Film Awards Cell of the I&B Ministry issued a statement announcing that his award had been suspended.


Jani Master, also known as Shaik Jani Basha, won the National Award for Best Choreography for the song "Megham Karukkatha" from the film 'Thiruchitrambalam', starring Dhanush and Nithya Menen. Nithya also won the National Award for Best Actress for the same film.
