The mythological animated epic, 'Mahavatar Narsimha', is enjoying a remarkable run at the box office. The director of the film Ashwin Kumar recently shared his views on which actor he feels would be best suited to play Lord Ram. According to a report by 123Telugu, Ashwin Kumar was asked which actor he would cast as Lord Shri Ram if he ever chose to make a live-action film within the MCU franchise. Without hesitation, the director named Ram Charan as his first choice.Here's a closer look at what the director said.

In the 2022 global blockbuster 'RRR' Ram Charan, in the climax scene of the film, was seen in an avatar of Lord Ram which was well praised among the fans, making him an ideal actor for the revered deity due to his strong on-screen persona and authoritative demeanour.

About 'Mahavatar Narsimha'

Speaking of the film 'Mahavatar Narsimha', it is an animated mythological feature film from the ambitious Mahavatar Cinematic Universe (MCU). Released on July 25, 2025, the movie has exceeded box office expectations by collecting over Rs 50 crore net within its first week as per Sacnillk and is continuing to perform impressively.

Ram Charan's work front

On the other hand, Ram Charan, after 'RRR', faced challenges with his next project, 'Game Changer'. Despite a massive opening and the hype of a Shankar directorial, the political drama underperformed at the box office. The film, mounted on a huge Rs 400 crore budget, struggled to sustain momentum, daily collections dropped rapidly after its opening, earning only around Rs 130 crore in three weeks before tapering off and being labeled 2025's first major flop.Meanwhile, he is working on 'Peddi,' a rural sports action drama directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The movie stars Janhvi Kapoor, Shivaraj Kumar, Divyendu Sharma and others in key roles. The film is to be released on March 27, 2026.
