After actor Shivaji’s remarks about how women dress caused anger online, filmmaker
Ram Gopal Varma has reacted by posting a picture from ‘The Raja Saab’ pre-release event, showing support for the actresses who wore what they liked.
Ram Gopal Varma’s post
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma took a picture from the ‘The Raja Saab’ pre-release event and shared it on his social media handle. In the picture,
Prabhas is taking a selfie with Niddhi Agerwal,
Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar. RGV wrote, “All 3 heroines of #Prabhas @AgerwaLNidhhi @MalavikaM_ @riddhiculousart didn’t care about moral barkings of Shivaji and his vitriolic batch at #RajaSaab event and wore exactly what they want to wear.” He also wrote, “Hats off to you 3 HEROES for giving tight face slap to those VILLAINS.” People started talking again after his post.
Malavika Mohanan wore a shiny black lehenga. Riddhi Kumar wore a beautiful white saree. Niddhi Agerwal wore a lovely grey saree. They smiled on stage as they posed for the pictures.

What did actor Shivaji say?
For the unversed, actor Shivaji spoke at an event some days ago. He talked about how women dress. He said that a woman who does not dress in a “modest” way is a “daridrapu m***a”. This means “wretched woman”.
He also used the word “saamaan” to talk about a woman’s body. He said, if a girl does not dress like that, people will think she is a “wretched woman”.
After so much backlash, Shivaji had to speak again. He said on his X (formerly Twitter) account that he used two “unparliamentary” words by mistake. He apologized for using those words.
