The real strength of Paper Boy lies in its writing: Sampath Nandi

When you have faith in your script everything else automatically falls into place,” says Sampath Nandi, speaking about his latest production Paper Boy. Despite featuring relatively new faces — Santosh Sobhan and Riya Suman, who are both just one-film-old — the film, directed by debutant Jayashankarr, has managed to create quite a buzz.

Heaping praise on his team, Sampath says, “A lot of preparation went into the making of this film. Jayashankarr has directed many short films, so it’s not like he was a novice. The actors too came with some experience. The lead pair especially did an impressive job as you can clearly see in the film.” The film has Santosh playing Ravi, a B.Tech graduate, who works as a paper boy. He falls in love with Dharani (Riya), a rich girl who drives around in luxury cars. While the story of a poor boy falling in love with a rich girl isn’t exactly new, how the story plays out will definitely strike a chord with the audience, assures Sampath, who has written the story, dialogues and screenplay of Paper Boy. “It’s a love story that people will connect with. how Ravi sincerely works his way into Dharani’s heart will definitely appeal to everyone. While there is plenty of innocent romance in the film, the real strength of Paper Boy lies in its writing,” says Sampath, proudly.

The filmmaker who had earlier directed films like Racha, Bengal Tiger and Goutham Nanda, is confident that Paper Boy will grow on the audience. “The script is honest and fresh and it will resonate with movie-goers of all age groups,” he says, signing off. Paper Boy is jointly produced by Sampath Nandi, Ramulu, Venkat and Narasimha under Sampath Nandi Team Works, BLN Cinema and Prachitra Creations.
