Powe Star
Pawan Kalyan will be back on the big screen with the upcoming cop action drama ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ directed by Harish Shankar. A couple of days are left for its release and recently the makers shared an update regarding the movie's background score. The team confirmed that Thaman will be scoring the tunes.
Why DSP stepped away from the background score
The makers explained that the decision came after discussions with music director Devi Sri Prasad. The production said that delays in finalising and sending reels for the background score made it hard to align with DSP’s schedule. “Due to our delay in finalising and sending reels for background score to DSP, we are unable to match the timeline he had dedicated to this film. Because of his prior commitments, he couldn’t accommodate it despite making every effort,” the statement read.
Makers’ statement
The makers also mentioned that this was a mutual decision. “We respect his decision, and under mutual consent, we are bringing Thaman on board for the background score. DSP’s songs will make you dance, while Thaman will elevate the film with his background score,” they added.
They further wrote, “Keeping the film’s timelines and overall vision in mind, this decision has been made to ensure smooth progress without any delays. This move comes after mutual discussions and has been taken in the best interest of the film. This is a powerful musical combination. Two stalwart musicians with one vision of making ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ a grand celebration and a lifetime memory for fans. Get ready for a truly memorable experience in theatres.”
Thaman and Pawan Kalyan’s previous collaboration
For the unversed, Thaman also gave music to Pawan Kalyan’s previous film, ‘They Call Him OG’, which was highly praised among the fans. Earlier, he also worked on ‘Bro’ and ‘Vakeel Saab’.
Speaking about the film, it also stars Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna as the female leads. The supporting cast includes Parthiban, Ashutosh Rana, Gautami, Naga Mahesh, Temper Vamsi, and others.
It will release on March 26, 2026.
