‘Varanasi’: Priyanka Chopra Jonas calls upcoming film with SS Rajamouli a ‘career-defining’ project

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is making her Indian cinema comeback in grand fashion, joining hands with the ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli and starring opposite Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu in the upcoming ‘Varanasi’. Recently, during the premiere of her film, ‘The Bluff’, the global icon called the project with the ‘RRR’ director a career-defining one.

As per a report by Indian Today, the ‘Sky Is Pink’ actress during a premiere event also spoke about her upcoming film with SS Rajamouli. Calling the director “one of the best that we have in India,” she shared her delight to be a part of this. “Well, the filmmaker's name is SS Rajamouli sir, and he is one of the best that we have in India. His movie is going to be really career-defining for me, I think, and I'm very excited about it,” she said.

In the film, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is seen playing the leading role along with Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Her character will be called Mandakini and in the poster the makers released earlier in November, she is seen in a yellow saree and handling a gun.

Speaking of the other actors, Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s characters have been announced as Rudra and Kumbha, respectively. Mahesh Babu will be playing the main protagonist who is seen riding a bull in the teaser, makers released. He has a powerful aura and a fierce as well as calm look in his eyes. On the other hand, Kumbha will be the villain, who has a menacing personality creating a negative atmosphere around him.

The film also features Prakash Raj.
