Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi's love story: From co-star to soulmates; actors embrace parenthood

Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi recently welcomed the priceless experience of parenthood, with Lavanya giving birth to a boy on September 10. As the actor take on their new roles, let's go back in time and cherish their love story which made them one of the Tollywood's beloved couples.

Varun Tej comes from a big family of Tollywood superstars, also known as the "Mega Family" and is the son of veteran actor and producer Nagendra Babu and Padmaja Konidela and has uncle Megastar Chiranjeevi and cousin Ram Charan. On the other hand, Lavanya Tripathi, who did her schooling from Marshall School in Dehradun moved to Mumbai to pursue further education in Economics, later ventured into modelling and acting.

When did they first meet

Call it a coincidence or the then casting director's call, their journey began in 2016 on the sets of their first film together, 'Mister'. Doing the film together, both became close friends and later fell in love. They later went on to work together in films like 'Gandeevadhari Arjuna' and 'Antariksham 9000 KMPH'.

Soon, rumors about their dating life started to take hold among the fans, however, they chose to stay tight-lipped about their relationship, preferring to keep it under wraps for almost five years until they were ready to make it official.

Made their relationship official

Their fans got their first official confirmation in June 2023, when Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi announced their engagement in a ceremony with close friends and family in Hyderabad. There have been reports at the time that Varun proposed to Lavanya on her birthday in Bangalore and went all out to get a diamond ring of her lady.

Wedding in Italy

The couple tied the knot on November 1, 2023, in a wedding in Tuscany, Italy. In an earlier report by Deccan Chronicle, Lavanya shared how her newly married life has been exciting and going great, with her in-laws making sure she is comfortable.

"When I go back to my in-laws’ home after a day’s work, I feel just the same as I did when I returned home to my own family before marriage," she added.

This year, in May, Varun and Lavanya together shared a black-and-white photo showing their hands clasped together with tiny baby shoes and announced Lavanya's pregnancy with the caption, "Life's most beautiful role yet – Coming soon."

On the baby's birth, the couple shared endearing moments on social media as they shared tender moments with elder cousin and superstar Chiranjeevi, who welcomed the newest member of the Konidela family.
