Finally, after several delays and speculations, the release date of Venkatesh and
Naga Chaitanya’s forthcoming multi-starrer ‘Venky Mama’ has been confirmed a few days ago. Through a witty video, Rana Daggubati has announced that the much-anticipated film will hit the theaters on December 13 which happens to be Venkatesh’s 59th birthday. While the post-production works are already in full swing, the promotions are all set to kick-off on a massive scale.
Touted to be a family-entertainer, Venky Mama is directed by ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ fame KS Ravindra (
Bobby). It stars the ravishing
Payal Rajput and
Raashi Khanna as the leading ladies with an ensemble star cast like Prakash Raj, Sampath Raj, Rao Ramesh and Posani Krishna Murali in pivotal roles.
Jointly bankrolled by Suresh Productions and People Media Factory, the music of Venky Mama is composed by S Thaman and the cinematography is handled by Prasad Murella. While the pre-release event is all set to take place on December 7 in Khammam, the cast & crew interacted with the media today and officially announced that the film will have a solo release on December 13.
Speaking at the event,
Suresh Babu mentioned that Venky Mama is a film about relationships. “Director Bobby has fine-tuned Janardhan Maharshi’s script and it came out really well. It is very emotional, entertaining and has a lot of love and sacrifice. Venky Mama was predominately shot in Rajahmundry, Hyderabad and Kashmir. The shooting experience in Kashmir was very pleasant and the locals were kind & friendly towards us.”

Mama and Alludu. I had already watched the final copy of the film and it’s very emotionally holding. Besides Venky and Chaitanya, Prakash Raj did a fantastic job. All those who have watched the film have heaped praises and I hope it works well at the box-office. ”
Naga Chaitanya will be seen as a fun-loving boy and an army officer in Venky Mama. Admitting that the film is very special to him, the 33-year-old Akkineni scion said “No matter how many films I do, Manam and Venky Mama will always be the two memorable films in my career. Victory Venkatesh kicked-off his speech in a hilarious tone. “Thank God. Finally, this film is releasing on December 13. I thank my brother for taking a decision at last on the release date. Doing this film is a dream come true for me as I always wanted to work with my nephews; Rana and Naga Chaitanya. I dedicate this film to my father (Ramanaidu) and I know that he will thoroughly enjoy the film.”
Speaking about his son-in-law, the veteran hero said “Though the audience have seen Chaitanya in a number of films, Venky Mama portrays him as an all-round actor. Whether it’s entertainment, action or emotional scenes, he delivered an outstanding performance. He got into the skin of the character and did a wonderful job.”

“Director Bobby did a commendable job as it’s not easy to handle two big heroes in a content-driven film. He has sensibly shot all the sequences and I’m very happy regarding the output. My family members are eagerly waiting to see me and Chaitanya on the silver screen.”
During an interview, Venkatesh admitted that the shooting of Venky Mama in Kashmir was one of the most difficult shoots of his entire career. “I had to walk to the top of a glacier, which would take hours each day. Then, we would have to pack everything up and return,” he told a leading daily.
