When Telugu movie posters inspired Bhojpuri movie posters

A film’s poster is more than just an advertisement medium. It not only gives us a sneak peek and general information regarding the upcoming movie but is also the face of the film. A lot of creativity goes into the making of a film’s poster. While Telugu industry has been inspiring Bollywood and other film industries with their content, they have also inspired some other regional language posters as well. Here are some of the Bhojpuri film poster ideas that have been picked up from the Telugu movie posters quite blatantly. Take a look!

‘Khaidi No 150’ – ‘Jigar’

The poster of Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’ and Anjana Singh starrer ‘Jigar’ clearly shows that it is heavily inspired by Megastar Chiranjeevi’s ‘Khaidi No 150’. We cannot help but notice that it has a striking resemblance to the VV Vinayak directorial film, which is the official remake of Tamil film ‘Kaththi’. Chiranjeevi is seen holding a rod on his shoulder while kneeling down in the poster. The poster is outstanding and exalts the power of the megastar.

‘Race Gurram’ – ‘Mehandi Laga Ke Rakhna’

Remember the pose Shruti Haasan sitting on the lap of Allu Arjun? Well, the still is from the song ‘Cinema Chupistha Mava’ from ‘Race Gurram’ to be directed by Surender Reddy. It was inspired by the Rajnish Mishra directed-film ‘Mehandi Laga Ke Rakhna’, starring Khesari Lal Yadav, Kajal Raghwani and Awadhesh Mishra in the lead roles. The Allu Arjun starrer was a big hit and Raj Tarun’s film ‘Cinema Chupistha Mava’ was named after the song.

'Jai Lava Kusa' – 'Saugandh'

The Jr NTR starrer was one of the super hits when it was released and the actor has been applauded for his performance in the triple role. Meanwhile, the poster of Vishal Verma’s ‘Saugandh’ was apparently a copy of the poster ‘Jai Lava Kusa’, which is an emotional drama, screened the story of three brothers Jai, Lava and Kusa. The movie was directed by KS Ravindra and features Nivetha Thomas and Raashi Khanna as the leading ladies. However, Jr NTR is seen fighting with his opponent in the poster.

‘Iddarammayilatho’ – ‘Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki’

Yash Kumar Mishra’s hugely successful film ‘Iddarammayilatho’ also has a poster that bears a strong resemblance to the Allu Arjun starrer ‘Iddarammayilatho’. One can’t figure out any difference between the two posters except Allu Arjun. The movie was directed by Puri Jagannadh and starred Amala Paul and Catherine Tresa as the female leads. Devi Sri Prasad has composed music which one of the major assets for the film. However, netizens are smart enough to find out which one is the original.

6/6

‘Aagadu’ – ‘Sipahi’

‘Sipahi’ is a Bhojpuri action entertainer directed by Premanshu Singh and featured Dinesh Lal Yadav and Amrapali Dubey in the lead roles. The movie was released in 2017 and the lead artists took people with stride. On the other hand, the poster of the movie is apparently copied from Mahesh Babu starrer ‘Aagadu’ to be directed by Sreenu Vaitla. Undoubtedly, the poster has an uncanny resemblance to the Telugu film and it seems that the makers have been inspired by the several commercial elements from the film.
