The iconic 3-point star Mercedes-Benz logo has been associated with the brand for a long time now. Mercedes Benz was founded by engineer and industrial designer Gottlieb Daimler in 1890, however the reins of the company soon shifted to Wilhelm Maybach and Emil Jellinek. Daimler’ sons remained involved with the company, and to honor their father they took inspiration for the logo from an 1872 postcard from their father, which featured a three-pointed star marking their home’s location. While the current logo is silver in color, it was originally blue. Today the three point star represents the company’s motivation. Tesla’s logo features a white emblem on a red or black background. While people believe that the ‘T’ in the logo stands for Tesla, there is a deeper story to it. As per reports, Elon Musk wanted the logo to resemble the cross-section of the original AC motor which was originally built by Nikola Tesla, the company’s namesake and he famous inventor and electrical engineer.
