Another ‘Melodi’ moment has sent the internet into a frenzy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni a packet of Melody toffees, prompting social media users to declare that the viral ‘Melodi’ nickname for the two leaders has now become official.

In a video shared by Meloni on X, the two leaders are seen holding up the toffee packet together. “Prime Minister Modi brought as a gift, a very, very good toffee,” Meloni says in the clip, before PM Modi reveals the name: “Melody.”





“Thank you for the gift,” Meloni wrote while sharing the video.

The playful exchange quickly went viral, adding to the long-running social media fascination with the warm rapport between Modi and Meloni, often dubbed ‘Melodi’ by users online.

PM Modi is currently in Italy as part of the final leg of his five-nation tour, which has included visits to the UAE, the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway.

The two leaders have often drawn attention for their informal and smiling photo-ops at international summits, with previous interactions also generating strong traction online.
