IPL 2015: Chennai Super Kings bows down to Sunrisers Hyderabad

The local crowd seems to have brought loud cheers and good form for Sunrisers Hyderabad as they went on to defeat the dominating Chennai Super Kings by 22 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. David Warner’s sizzling 61 made the victory sweeter as he led SRH bowl off CSK swiftly in their first match in Hyderabad this season. Despite CSK winning the toss and choosing to bowl, SRH crushed them by registering 192 for 7 in an answer to their 170 for 6.

David Warner proved to be a rising sun in the day/night match which wrapped just before midnight. The left-handed opener from Australia gave Chennai Super Kings jitters with his unstoppable fours and sixes. The man in orange made the fielders sweat harder on the field as he registered 11 fours and one six in his first 21 balls. As the cricketer put his bat down at a whopping 61 at just 28 balls, the seeds were well sown for their wonderful victory.

It seems the Sunrisers Hyderabad has finally given Chennai Super Kings some competition by defeating them soon after they were cruelly beaten by Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders. the Sunrisers limited the Chennai Super Kings’s victorious roar in the IPL by clinching their fourth win of this season and registering the fifth position in the IPL ranking. However, the victory didn’t come that easy as CSK chased well only to fall short of the required goal.

IPL 2015: Chennai Super Kings bows down to Sunrisers Hyderabad

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not among those who lose heart with a defeat but the consecutive loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad soon after they were harshly wept away by the Kolkata Knight Riders may not go down well with Captain Cool. Dhoni must have thought little that his decision to chase after winning the toss will not be fruitful. Tension could be seen writ large on the faces of men in yellow as Ashish Reddy bowled him at just 20. With no man standing over 33 runs, the highest by Faf Du Plessis, the CSK fort crumbled like a pack of cards.

While Dhoni accepted that bowling let them down, the lack of stability at the wickets also made Chennai Super Kings a weak force in the match. On the other hand, the way Eoin Morgan gave a support system to David Warner by sticking at the wickets at 32 not out of 27 balls, was also commendable. Not to forget Shikhar Dhawan’s 37 runs of 32 balls which played big role in Sunrisers’s victory.
