Happy Birthday Hussain Kuwajerwala

Hussain Kuwajerwala is an Indian TV actor, anchor and dancer who rose to fame with his role in the Indian soap opera ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. Hussain was born and raised in Mumbai. He is best known for doing several modelling campaigns and commercials. As Hussain turns a year older today (October 12, 2015), here are some known and lesser known facts about him and his journey on television.

Hussain’s brother, Qaeed Kuwajewala, is a director and his sister, Nafisa, resides in the United States. Hussain attended Fatima High School in Mumbai and received his B.Sc degree from Jai Hind College in Mumbai. Over the years, Hussain has been a part of a large number of fiction shows and has also been a prominent face of reality TV, as both anchor and participant.

Hussain’s major break in lead role was in ‘Kumkum’. After that, he worked in a show called 'Krishna Arjun' portraying the character of Arjun, a detective. He has also anchored several shows including 'Shabaash India', 'Kisme Kitna Hai Dum', 'Kuch Kar Dikhana Hai' and 'Khullja Sim Sim' (second season), 'Indian Idol 3', 'Indian Idol 4', 'Dance Premier League', 'Indian Idol 5', 'Indian Idol 6' and 'Indian Idol Junior' (Season 1 and 2). He was last seen hosting ‘Indian Idol Junior 2’ with actress Asha Negi.

Hussain made his Bollywood debut with ‘Shree’ in 2013. He won the 2007 Style Icon of the Year Award. On his Bollywood debut, Hussain says, “And Bollywood has a pronounced influence on all aspiring actors and TV actors are not an exception because they are also fed on Bollywood when it comes to entertainment. When we TV stars think of exploring better acting opportunities, then Bollywood tops every actor's career wishlist. I explored with all formats of entertainment on television before I thought of entering movies.”

Hussain married his college sweetheart Tina Darira on December 21, 2005, which was also the same date that they first met. Hussain also participated and won the reality show 'Nach Baliye 2', along with his wife Tina. About their relationship, Hussain says, “I have a great relationship with Tina since the past eleven years of our marriage. I have a loving family. And I could not have asked for anything better. I'm living a dream.”
