The Modi government needs to weigh the balance of convenience, in being able to squeeze out a large chunk of black money stashed abroad at one go through amnesty —&nbsp; as done by a number countries in the recent past including the US, Australia, and Germany — or struggle to retrieve black money in bits and pieces via the Special Investigation Team route. &nbsp;<o:p></o:p>

Change of currency and denominations will make immediate impact. Is it doable? Yes. Will that get political and public support? Probably not. Black Money's other name is corruption. Large percentage of our population supports it directly or indirectly. It has become part and parcel of our daily lives. Most people want to live a corruption free life but they feel helpless. If law enforcement community can be made free of corruption - good chances we can decrease the problem. Is that possible? Does not look like.
