5 cops suspended for Pocso case manipulation in Samba

JAMMU: Cracking down on lapses in the handling of crimes against children, the SSP of J&K’s Samba district suspended the SHO of Ramgarh police station, a sub-inspector, two ASIs, and a munshi over allegations of facilitating a compromise in a Pocso case. They have been attached to police lines pending an investigation into the charges.

“This development comes as part of Samba police’s ongoing efforts to ensure accountability and transparency. SSP Anuj Kumar, who assumed charge earlier this year, has been emphasising strict action against any misconduct by police personnel,” an official said.

In a related development, a special police officer has been transferred from Ramgarh police station to another police post.
