Republic Day Tableaux Showcase 'Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas'

India's Republic Day celebrations on Kartavya Path featured a vibrant display of tableaux, with this year's theme being "Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas" (Golden India: Heritage and Progress).


A total of 16 tableaux from various states and Union Territories, along with 15 from central ministries, departments, and organizations, participated in the grand parade.
The Ministry of Culture's tableau celebrated India's timeless prosperity and cultural wealth, aligning with the theme of "Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas."

Chief guest and opening ceremony

India celebrated its 76th Republic Day on Sunday with a grand display of its military might that included elite marching contingents, missiles and indigenous weapon systems, with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto gracing the occasion as the chief guest.

The parade commenced with President Droupadi Murmu taking the salute after arriving in a traditional buggy alongside Subianto, escorted by the President's Bodyguards.

For the 2025 Republic Day, PM Modi chose a striking multi-coloured turban featuring shades of red and yellow. He paired it with a brown bandhgala coat with full sleeves, accessorised by a multi-coloured pocket square and churidar pants. (PTI)

PM Modi pays tributes at National War Memorial

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tributes to the fallen soldiers at the National War Memorial here on the occasion of the 76th Republic Day.
The prime minister led the nation in paying solemn tributes by laying a wreath at the memorial, escorted by the Chief of Defence Staff and the three Service Chiefs.

Historic tri services tableau

For the first time, a tri-services tableau rolled down Kartavya Path, symbolizing the spirit of "jointness" among the armed forces.


Titled "Shashakt aur Surakshit Bharat" (Strong and Secure India), it depicted a battlefield scenario integrating land, air, and naval operations, featuring indigenous systems like the Arjun battle tank, Tejas fighter jet, and Advanced Light Helicopter.

Show of military strength

The Army’s mechanized columns showcased advanced weaponry, including the Tank T-90 Bhishma, NAG missile systems, the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, the Pinaka multi-launcher rocket system, the Agnibaan multi-barrel rocket launcher, the Akash weapon system, the integrated battlefield surveillance system and all-terrain vehicle Chetak were among the key displays by the mechanised columns.

Army's marching contingents

The Army's marching contingents included the Brigade of the Guards, the Jat Regiment, the Garhwal Rifles, the Mahar Regiment, the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles Regiment and the Corps of Signals. (ANI)

Navy’s Aatmanirbhar commitment

The Indian Navy’s contingent highlighted its self-reliant capabilities, with a tableau displaying state-of-the-art combatants like INS Surat, INS Nilgiri, and INS Vaghsheer.


The display emphasized India's progress in indigenous warship design and its commitment to protecting maritime interests.

Social Justice Ministry's tableau celebrates the Constitution

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment's tableau at the Republic Day parade paid tribute to the Constitution of India, portraying it as the cornerstone of the nation's heritage, development and guidance for the future.


The tableau captured the essence of justice, equality, and liberty, showcasing how the Constitution continues to shape India into a united, progressive and inclusive society.

Swarnim Jharkhand: Legacy of heritage and progress

The front portion of the tableau depicted two girls using laptops, symbolizing the state's commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and ensuring accessible education for all, especially tribal children in urban and rural areas.
The rear section showcased the iconic Tata Steel plant, established in Jamshedpur in 1907, as a representation of industrial progress, sustainability, and economic growth. Paying homage to the Tata Group and Sir Ratan Tata, the tableau celebrated Jharkhand's significant contributions to India's industrial development.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development's tableau emphasized themes of maternal care, life cycle continuity, and women's leadership. A mother nurturing her child served as the centerpiece, symbolizing the pivotal role of women in shaping the nation’s future.

Honoring Lord Birsa Munda’s 150th birth anniversary

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs presented a vibrant tableau celebrating 'Tribal Pride Year' and the enduring legacy of Lord Birsa Munda, marking his 150th birth anniversary. The tableau featured Lord Birsa Munda under a sal tree, symbolizing the tribal community's deep connection with nature.
The tableau highlighted the tribal slogan "Jal, Jungle, Zameen" (Water, Forest, Land), emphasizing sustainable development and the protection of natural resources.

UP showcases Maha Kumbh's spiritual legacy

Uttar Pradesh’s tableau highlighted the spiritual grandeur of the Maha Kumbh, emphasizing the tale of 'Samudra Manthan' and devotion to deities.


The tableau depicted the confluence of the holy Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati at Prayagraj, with a replica of the Amrit Kalash tilted forward, symbolizing the sacred Amritdhara.


Surrounding it, sadhus and saints were shown meditating, performing 'Aachman,' and blowing conch shells, while devotees bathed in the holy Sangam waters, capturing the spiritual essence of the Mahakumbh.

'Daredevils' showcase skills at Republic Day

The Motorcycle Rider Display Team of the Corps of Signals of the Indian Army, also known as the 'Daredevils' showcased their skills at the 76th Republic Day Parade at the Kartavya Path in Delhi on Sunday
Captain Ashish Rana, presenting a smart and crisp salute lead the Corps of Signals Daredevils team in the parade. The Daredevils, have earned international recognition for their daring performances and now hold 33 world records, including entries in the Guinness Book of World Records, Asia Book of Records, and Limca Book of Records.

Indonesia marching band contingent

A 352-member marching and band contingent from Indonesia also participated in the Republic-Day parade. This was the first time that an Indonesian marching and band contingent participated in a national-day parade abroad.

Air Force flypast

The Indian Air Force concluded the parade with a jaw-dropping flypast of 40 aircraft and helicopters, including Rafale, Su-30, MiG-29, and Apache. The Rafale performed the concluding Vertical Charlie manoeuvre, earning widespread applause.

Concluding Vertical Charlie manoeuvre

The celebrations ended with a jaw-dropping flypast by 40 aircraft and helicopters of the IAF. The fleet included 22 fighter jets, 11 transport aircraft and seven helicopters.
These included Rafale, Su-30, Jaguar, C-130, C-295, C-17, AWACS, Dornier-228 and An-32 aircraft. The helicopters were Apache and Mi-17.


The platforms displayed a variety of formations, including Dhwaj, Ajay, Satluj, Rakshak, Arjan, Netra, Bheem, Amrit, Vajrang, Trishul and Vijay. The concluding Vertical Charlie manoeuvre was performed by a Rafale fighter aircraft.
