Woman’s decapitated body found in bags on train to Lucknow, probe underway
Lucknow Railway SP Rohit Mishra said that during a routine inspection of a train travelling from Chhapra via Gorakhpur to Gomti Nagar, railway staff found an abandoned box and bag inside a sleeper coach.

After being alerted, the station master informed the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP). Upon examination, officials discovered a decapitated torso inside the box, while the victim’s limbs were separately packed in polythene bags and kept inside the bag. Police suspect the body is that of a woman aged between 25 and 30 years.

The remains have been sent for post-mortem. Mishra said identification has not yet been possible as the head is missing. An FIR has been registered, and three teams have been formed to investigate the case, with further action being taken in accordance with the law.
