Fresh cases once again touched a new peak of 3.46 lakh in a single day in India while deaths hit a grim new record of 2,600 on Friday. India has now reported close to a million new cases (9.94 lakh) in just three days, while Friday was also the fourth day in a row in which India reported more than 2,000 deaths in 24 hours. Indigenous Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin will be priced at Rs 600 per dose for state governments and Rs 1200 per dose for private hospitals, Bharat Biotech said on Saturday.
The exports price of Covaxin is in the range of $15-20 per dose as per the EUAs inked by the vaccine maker with governments of various countries.

Union minister Som Parkash, who had tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this week, is on oxygen support in an ICU of a private hospital in Mohali where doctors were closely monitoring his condition. Parkash (72), Union minister of state for commerce and industry and BJP MP from Hoshiarpur, had tweeted earlier this week, stating that he tested positive for the infection. According to a statement issued on Saturday by Mohali's Fortis Hospital, "Som Parkash has Covid pneumonia with significant lung involvement and raised biomarkers."
