US records 1,225 coronavirus deaths, bringing its total to 102,798 since the pandemic began, with 1,745,606 overall cases of the virus, far more than any other nation, according to the tally kept by Johns Hopkins University, reports AFP.

India reported the highest single-day rise in Covid-19 cases as well as deaths, with over 7,700 new infections detected and 270 fatalities related to the virus reported on Friday.

Covid 19: Star hotels to add 2,000 beds for viral fight
With the number of coronavirus cases on a surge, Delhi government on Friday decided to take over five-starred hotels for conversion into temporary hospitals to augment the beds available for Covid-19 patients.
