Countdown for Modi Govt’s departure has begun, says Mayawati

LUCKNOW: Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Saturday joined the opposition ranks in slamming the BJP-led NDA government saying that the countdown for Modi's departure had begun.

"Bhrashtachar, mehangai, berozgari, arajakta -- BJP ke shasan mein sab kuch badha hai... Yahan tak ki aam aadmi ka chain aur sukun chin gaya hai... Isliye ab is sarkar ki ulti giniti shuru ho gai hai (Corruption, Inflation, Unemployment, Anarchy... everything has increased under this (Modi) government's rule. Now, it's time for them to start counting their days)," Mayawati said.

Her statement was in complete consonance with the sentiments echoed by Congress and Samajwadi Party. While the Congress workers have decided to observe four years of Modi government as Vishwasghat Divas, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also condemned the BJP government in a poetic tweet.

Mayawati further said that the Union government tried to brush under the carpet the Kathua and Unnao rape cases. "Modi government had no right to celebrate four years of its government as it had failed on all fronts," she said.

Mayawati also cornered BJP government on the issue of rise in fuel prices. Stating that PM Modi claims to do everything a historic way, she said that it is on account of this reason that the fuel prices are at a historic high during his government.
