Identity of two more Mumbai attackers traced to Pakistan
NEW DELHI: The probe into Mumbaiterror attacks has led investigating agencies to ascertain the real identity ofwanted Lashkar-e-Taiba militants Abu Al Qama and Zarar Shah. Both of them areresidents of Pakistan. (Watch)Investigations have revealedthat Mazhar Iqbal, a resident of Mandi tehsil of Punjab province, was code-namedas Abu Al Qama by the Lashkar terror group, official sources said on Wednesday.This finding was a result of an increased cooperation betweencentral security agencies and the FBI. The two agencies carried out detailedinterrogation of Lashkar terrorists arrested worldwide to know the identity ofAbu Al Qama. The other Lashkar terrorist identified by the securityagencies was Zarar Shah whose actual name was Abdul Wajid, a resident ofSheikhpura district of Punjab province, the sources said. About therole of the two in Mumbai terror strikes, the sources said Iqbal alias Abu AlQama had been responsible for training the terrorists who carried out thestrikes in Mumbai on November 26 lastin which lives of 183 people were lost.
Besides having other aliases like Amjad, Iqbal is wanted in otherhigh-profile cases including Red Fort encounter, attack on Akshardham temple inGujarat and serial bombing on the eve of Diwali in 2005 in the national capital.Iqbal is incharge of Lashkar operations in India exceptJammu&Kashmir, the sources said.
