Mallikarjun Kharge among 7 Congress nominees for Rajya Sabha polls

NEW DELHI: Congress has announced names of seven candidates for upcoming RS elections. Party chief Mallikarjun Kharge will file his nomination for RS from Karnataka.

Local candidate Mansoor Ali Khan and AICC spokesman Pawan Khera are the other two candidates from Karnataka. In Jharkhand, Congress has decided to field Pranav Jha, who is an advisor to Kharge. Jha belongs to the state, which is ruled by a rainbow coalition of JMM, Congress and RJD.

AICC data analytics department chairman Praveen Chakravarty will contest the lone seat coming up for election in Tamil Nadu. While Congress has only five MLAs in state, the TVK govt led by Vijay has given the seat to the party at its request. Former MP Meenakshi Natarajan has been fielded from MP. In Raj, it has decided to re-nominate Neeraj Dangi. TNN
