Campaigning for the final phase of voting ended this evening . Looking back at the campaign narratives, it is a truism that PM Modi brought it to the lowest ebb by all time attacking the Congress manifesto and indulging in visceral communal campaign of the highest orden by bringing in the Muslims in his speeches. So much for his talk of ‘sab ka saath and sab ka viswas’. By harping on mangal sutra, mutton, machali and buffalo snatching etc , he lowered the dignity of the Office he holds. Not even for a while, perhaps, he thought of how the sovereign voters would judge him for his utterances nor how would history judge him. The 48 hours meditation after all the ugly campaigning is nothing but a tamasha.
