As the Centre prepares to introduce Waqf bill for discussion and passage in Parliament, Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh outlined five key reasons why the party considers the legislation "deeply flawed.""Provisions in existing law are being removed to weaken administration of the waqf. Enhanced defences are being introduced to protect those who have encroached on waqf lands," he alleged.The Rajya Sabha in the last session addressed the alleged recovery of cash from the residence of a sitting Delhi high court judge. Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar stated that he would consider facilitating a structured discussion on judicial accountability.Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs walked out of the Rajya Sabha on Friday after the House opted to discuss the home ministry instead of proceeding with the scheduled question hour and Private Members' Bills. Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar defended the decision, citing the impending guillotining of demands for grants for 2025-26 in the Lok Sabha.
