Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm and vibrant welcome from the Indian diaspora in Brazil as he arrived in Rio de Janeiro for the G20 Leaders’ Summit. The celebrations outside the Hotel Nacional featured a traditional dandiya dance, with dancers in colourful Gujarati attire, and the chanting of Vedic mantras by Brazilian scholars. Members of the diaspora also presented gifts to the Prime Minister as a gesture of respect.The excitement of the Indian community was palpable, with many waving Indian flags and displaying photographs of PM Modi. One diaspora member told ANI, “We are thrilled to meet the leader of one of the world’s largest democracies.” Another attendee expressed pride, saying, “It’s an honour to see him in person. This is a proud moment for us.”PM Modi arrived in Brazil on Monday as part of a three-nation tour that began with a visit to Nigeria. In Rio de Janeiro, he was greeted by Indian diplomats, led by Ambassador Suresh Reddy.
