Justin Bieber India Concert: Highlights

Amidst all the hype, fanfare and mumbo-jumbo surrounding Justin Bieber’s maiden concert in Mumbai, the international pop sensation crept out of the city in the wee hours of Thursday, after his noteworthy performance on Wednesday evening. The singer, who was expected to party it up with Bollywood biggies like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez, and tour around the country visiting the Taj Mahal and Delhi, was spotted at the Mumbai international airport catching his flight out of the country.

After wooing Beliebers over with his performance, a number of reports claimed that Justin’s five-day itinerary included a sightseeing tour around the city with actress Jacqueline Fernandez playing his guide, along with a visit to an NGO, followed by bashes being hosted by a Bollywood superstars and even the Ambanis. However, it looks like the blistering heat and humidity proved to be a bit too much for Bieber, who was spotted shirtless at the airport as he left the country.

Although the reason for his quiet departure remains unknown, Justin is expected to continue the next leg of his Purpose World Tour in Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa on May 14 and May 17 respectively.

For those pining over their missed opportunity to meet their idol need not worry, as he promised to be back soon.

Fans erupted in unison as Justin emerged from below the stage and breath-taking fireworks. The singer started off his set by singing ‘Mark My Words’ and proceeded to sang some of his greatest hits like ‘Company’, ‘Boyfriend’ and even brought out a guitar to perform ‘Cold Water’.

Justin sang for nearly two hours and ended up performing 20 of his greatest hits.

Actress-model Elarica Johnson is the host for the evening as she introduces the acts on-stage. DJ Alan Walker was the next artist to take centre-stage. Him playing 'Sing Me To Sleep' got the most cheers of the evening, as the crowd warms up to welcome Justin Bieber who is all set to perform next.

The Bieber-mania has caught everyone’s imagination alike and our favourite Bollywood celebrities are no exception to this. Many A-list names had expressed a desire to attend Justin’s concert and with a tentative party to be hosted by an influential superstar in the works, many popular celebs came out in full glory. Alia Bhatt and director Ayan Mukherji were spotted together, meanwhile Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora came along with their son Arhaan. Also present was Sridevi along with her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi. Jacqueline Fernandez, who's rumoured to be Justin's tour guide, also walked in looking smashing in monochrome.

Before Justin Bieber takes the centre stage, Indian artists opened the show to entertain the audiences with their beats. DJ Sartek took the stage first with his EDM tunes. His set was followed by DJ Zaeden who belted out some well-received tunes. The next act is by Alan Walker.

After his arrival, Justin’s crew posted a video of him interacting with underprivileged children on a bus. Justin even handed out 100 passes for his concert to them. The children were overjoyed at meeting the international pop sensation. Soon after, Justin was spotted at Inorbit Mall in Vashi, Navi Mumbai sipping on a beverage.

The organisers of the show are going out of their way to ensure that Bieber's visit is not marred by any security issues. With at least 45,000 fans expected at the venue in Nerul, the Navi Mumbai police and traffic departments have chalked out elaborate security, emergency, disaster management and traffic regulation plans.

The venue will be under extensive CCTV surveillance and drone cameras will be used for live feed, which will be monitored from the control room. 500 police personnel will be on duty along with few sniffer dogs. Additionally, the venue will be screened by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad before the commencement of the event.

Considering the large number of footfalls, a ground near the venue has been earmarked for parking and will accommodate up to 3,000 cars at a time. A shuttle service will also be provided from the parking lot to the venue. Twenty officers and 200 constables will also be deployed to manage traffic along with 100 volunteers.

Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber is finally in Mumbai after performing in Dubai for another round of his Purpose Tour. The tour started on March 9, 2016 in Seattle, US and will end on September 24, 2017 in Tokyo. Justin landed in Mumbai on Wednesday morning and was escorted out of the airport with Salman Khan’s personal bodyguard Shera. The famed bodyguard will reportedly be a part of the singer's security entourage and play an integral role in overseeing safety details. He was spotted on Tuesday, conducting a recce at the stadium to make sure all security related matters were in place before the singing sensation stepped into the city.

The global pop sensation is set to perform later this evening at the D Y Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai, which is expected to be attended by around 45,000 fans from across the nation. The 'Sorry' singer was clicked arriving at the airport, dressed in a pink sweatshirt paired up with black shorts.
