According to a Mid-day report, actor Karan Patel and actress Ankita Bhargava had their roka ceremony recently. Reportedly, the duo suddenly announced their wedding plans and the media was abuzz with the development. Karan Patel broke up with actress Kamya Punjabi few months ago as he found love in Ankita Bhargava, his co-star in Star Plus' celebrated show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. Karan and Ankita's roka ceremony was a low key affair where only family and close friends were invited.

After parting ways with TV actress Kamya Punjabi, Ye Hai Mohabbatein actor Karan Patel is getting married to TV actress, Ankita Bhargava on May 3 this year. While the news has come as a shocker for Karan’s fans, the actor is super-excited about the new chapter of his life. According to a report on Indiatoday.in, his fiancée Ankita has also rubbished the rumours about her being the reason behind Karan’s break-up by revealing that Karan and Kamya broke up in December last year. Well, whatever the truth be, Karan Patel, for sure, is the most talked-about TV celeb these days.

Now that Karan is all set to tie the knot with Ankita Bhargava, his on-screen father-in-law from the show will turn his real-life father-in-law. Abhay Bhargava, who plays the role of Raman's father-in-law in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, is Ankita's father. So while shooting schedules might keep Karan away from his ladylove, his father-in-law will always be around.

While many think that Karan was in a relationship with his Kasturi co-actor, Amita Chandekar, he revealed in an interview with TOI that she was never his real-life girlfriend. Karan had said, "I'd like to clarify that I don't have a girlfriend. This was something I needed to clear for a long time. It's a misunderstanding that has been allowed to go on for too long. Amita and I were close friends. And we were together for some time, though not as a couple. Our togetherness was mistaken for something else. I'm much relieved to clear this notion."

Karan Patel began his career with the show, Kasturi, where he played the male lead, Robbie Sabharwal. Much before Kasturi happened, Karan was seen on popular Balaji shows like Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Kasamh Se.

Karan Patel does not like being part of romantic projects but is a big Shah Rukh Khan fan. He has revealed that he would love to be a part of a project running on the lines of Shah Rukh’s Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. The actor has also been quoted as saying that if ever a biopic on his life was to be made, he would want Ranveer Singh to play his part.

In order to learn the basics of acting, Karan attended Namit Kapoor’s Acting School. He also went to London School of Arts to further polish his acting skills. The handsome hunk, who has proved his acting skills over the years, is also a good dancer. Karan participated in Nach Baliye 3 and was paired alongside TV actress, Amita Chandekar.
